Empty Thoughts... 

1. What do you do when your world is so open that you cannot begin to explore the perplexities and the nature of its multifaceted complacency. I use the term complacency here, because the world as a whole, is occupied by a complacent atmosphere. I do not know what fuels my feeling towards complacency, but I assume it to be one of the most incoherent states of being. 

2. Maybe it is a form of insecurity that is possessed by the world; due to the constant harm that is inflicted on it and its inhabitants, consistently, without fail.  

3. It is said that one should not fear mediocrity. This statement should be extended to: "Do not fear mediocrity, fear complacency". It would be fitting for the balance of the message as a whole, do you not think?

I trust that you have all had a safe and happy entry into yet another year. I recently came back from the most amazing vacation, by the seaside (my favourite), in Mozambique. In one of our Yoga classes, we were asked to direct our energy towards one focus for the year. For most of us, it is difficult to focus completely on one aspect of our lives. We have so many options presented to us on a daily basis and where we are able to, we try our best to control the nature of those options; in the hopes of acquiring complete satisfaction. I was paired with a woman whose ideal focus was to find a sense of resolution within herself; mine was to love more openly. We were instructed by our instructor, Reanne from Amsterdam, to consider the other person's desire to fulfill their wish for the year and the exchange herewith was simply magical. In that moment, we felt the intensity of placing focus on the goal of another human being. It was one of the most selfless, inspirational tasks of my life thus far. We are so quick to wish and pray for our own happiness, but when it comes to others, we find it that much more difficult to carry their hopes and dreams at the same level as we do our own.

HAPPY MEATLESS MONDAY MES AMIS!

Before you begin, pre-heat your oven for 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. 

Pizza-bread, is one of my favourite snacks in the whole wide world.

It is the equivalent of a toasted sandwich, but what makes it unique, is the pizza-like qualities to which it attaches itself.

The procedure for making this meal is very simple. Grab two slices of wholewheat, rye, health or any other choice of bread. Drizzle your bread with some olive oil and line it with a slither of butter. 

The sauce: You can use a simple tomato gravy for the base of your sandwich (this is a great way to recycle your leftovers), otherwise, any tomato and onion (optional) based sauce shall suffice. 

The best part of this preparation, is definitely within the cheese. Grate two handfuls of mozzarella cheese, spread it over the sauce, on your bread and sprinkle with some rosemary. 

Bake the bread in the oven for approximately 12 minutes, allowing for the last 5 minutes to be spared, purely for grilling until golden brown.

I decided to make some homemade guacamole to accompany my meal because a. Guac is the one and b. I needed to use the second half of an avocado that had been stored in the fridge, before it went off.

In a side bowl, I mixed together: avocado, half a teaspoon of Hellman's mayonnaise, 5ml (1 teaspoon) of pepper-dew juice and half a teaspoon of olive oil. I then seasoned the guac with some salt, pepper and a hint of chilli. You may add in a squeexe or two of lemon juice, just because it is Dezemba :)
