... And the Grammy Goes To...

Sometimes I sit and wonder why we are not more in tune with ourselves as opposed to being in tune with the lively activities of others. I am a person who has been experiencing loss since the young age of five. I've lost family members, friends, lovers and many others.

Most of us are conditioned to feel depressed, without ambition and at a stand-still when we experience difficulties in our lives. As harsh of a reality as it may be, we are all here to ride our own horses, to fly our own planes, to push ourselves to the highest of heights. We need to start practising the expulsion of negative energy that surrounds our beings and explore better, our sense of pride, joy, fulfilment and most importantly, happiness. For everything and everyone around us, will one day disappear and we are the only ones that will ignite the individual achievement of leading a wholesome life.

HAVE THE BEST DAY EVER!

LIVING 101!

As I reflect on my youthful life, I am constantly taken back to my happy place, the kitchen. I think of the aromas that I was met with upon entering my home. The morning wake up-calls of the slight scent of breakfast. The sensations that filled my soul upon that first bite. The happiness of eating and exchanging food with other children at school. Pure happiness. The flare of colours, creative juxtaposition of ingredients and explosive surprises are some of the genius culinary traits that I associate with my mother, who is the inspiration of my life. Her ability to produce food from less than nothing was magical and watching her welcome people from all walks of life into our home in a loving, full-filling manner is what ignited my love for the Culinary world.
I feel lucky to have worked in various environments over the past five years, because it has allowed for me to take on this dream, with a clear view of what I want to do with my life. To me, being a chef is more than a career. It is a privilege, it is a lifestyle, it is a way of saving lives.

WHY CRY, WHEN YOU HAVE FRIENDS LIKE THESE?

These two ladies are the epitome of cool. Nomalanga Ntuli and Kay Morgan are two people who definitely make my heart skip a beat or ten...

'The Blonde Blacks' rock my world'- We went to Beluga for my birthday this past December and oh what a beautiful day it was. Thank you to my sister, Actress/Producer/Writer, Rori Motuba for organising an amazing, boozy, fun-loving, perve-igniting lunch; at one of Cape Town's finest dining spots, BELUGA. I have frequented this restaurant since I was a teenager and all I can say is that the quality of this exciting place has sky-rocketed over the past few years.

One of the best qualities of Beluga, is their 'half-price sushi' deal which is available to all of us every Tuesday :) WINNING!

Walter... The best waiter to ever live... Thus far! He gave us the most delightful service and I must commend him on his bubbly nature, big smile and his all round good spirit... THANKS FOR AN AWESOME DAY!

Next time you are in Cape Town, please try and eat here and if you have already tried it out, then you know exactly how I feel about Beluga and everything that it has to offer. Lucky for me, the head chef is an amazing man and I hope to work with him in the near future.
